A tack box is one of the most important things for a groom. They know better than anyone what you need for the daily care of your horse. Today, we will share some top tips of make your horse shine like a world champion.

Grooming box tips

Grooms always make sure they have clean brushes. If your horse is wearing a rug, it’s very important to keep your horse as sand-free as possible to avoid rubbing. Therefore, make sure your grooming box is clean too. The Tack box of Grooming deluxe is easy to clean with a damp cloth and therefore super practical around the stables.

It’s also important to keep the other things, such as your stable clean. The cleaner the stable, the cleaner your horse. So do not only invest time in a thorough grooming routine but also in mucking out the stables.

One last tip to keep things clean is to wash your saddle pads regularly. After riding, sweat and sand will stick to the lining. If you don’t wash the saddle pad often, this will cause rubbing marks.

Also, make sure to have everything you need for a grooming routine in the tack box and not laying around somewhere. You don’t want to spend time looking for that one brush while you’re cleaning your horse. make sure to have only the essentials like a hoof brush, mane brush, body brush, and a finishing brush.

Other nice things to add to your tack box are baby wipes and old washcloths. They are super multi-functional al you can use them to clean different kinds of stains or to gently clean the head. But this might also be convenient for you. If you still have to go somewhere after you’ve spent time at the stable, you can use it to refresh yourself. Your non-horsey friends will be thankful .  If the washcloth is a bit frayed, don’t throw it away just yet. You can still use it to grease your saddle or bridle.

A good sheen spray is also important to add to your tack box. It creates a nice shine, that looks beautiful in pictures or during shows. It’s also a first barrier for sand and dirt. During winter you can also use some sheen spray on the shoulders of your horse. This avoids rubbing marks because the rug glides better over the horse’s body.
