1. What is Recuptex

Recuptex is a fabric that has fine stainless-steel fibers woven into the yarn. It is a Belgian technology that was originally developed for pregnant women in China. These women wanted to protect their babies from magnetic fields and beams. Thanks to the stainless-steel fibers, the Recuptex fabric creates a cage of Faraday to repel the beams and conduct the body’s magnetic fields. At Kentucky Horsewear, we use the Recuptex fabric to improve your horse’s health.

2. Does it really work?

The Recuptex really works however, it does not change your horse in just one blink. We advise to use the products for at least 30 minutes. If you have a Recuptex product or when you’re in the store you can test the fabric by putting your phone in it. You will notice that all your signals will be lost as it reflects the magnetic fields from the outside.

3. What happens when I use a Recuptex product?

The technology protects your horse from magnetic fields from the outside but also uses the horse’s magnetic field. The stainless-steel fiber conducts the horse’s body heat and improves blood circulation. By doing this, you can treat and prevent various medical issues. The Recuptex fabric relaxes the horse’s muscles and thus your horse will be more relaxed. You will notice this in his behavior, your horse can start yawning for example, but also during riding as your horse will feel more flexible.

4. For which issues can you use Recuptex?

The Recuptex products can be used for lots of different problems. It can help with arthritis or tendon problems. It can also be used on horses with swollen legs or really any muscle issue. As the Recuptex technology works only with your horse’s magnetic fields it cannot harm your horse.  And a small office insider: if you ever have a stiff neck, you can put the neckpiece in your neck, and this will reduce the stiffness.

5. How long can I leave a Recuptex product on?

When you introduce a Recuptex product to your horse, it’s important to do it in small sessions. The Recuptex can feel a bit tingly in the beginning, this is why we recommend starting with 5 minutes and slowly increase the time. When your horse is fully used to the feeling you can choose how long you leave the products on. Some people use it 2 hours before and after training for warming up and cooling down, while others use it 24/7. The good thing about the Recuptex is that there’s no over usage as it is not a magnetic rug.

6. Is a Recuptex product washable?

Yes, a Recuptex product is washable and does not lose its quality. As we use stainless steel fibers from Bekaert and no minerals or magnets, every Recuptex product is a lifelong purchase. You can wash your Recuptex products at 30 degrees. Do not tumble dry afterward. 

7. At what temperatures can I use the Recuptex rug?

Because the Recuptex rug is very light you can use it all year.  because of the mesh, the rug can be used in summer for fly prevention. During winter you can easily use the Recuptex rug as an under rug and combine it with other Kentucky rugs.

8. Can you use the boots for big horses or ponies?

The Recuptex boots come in a size full and fit most horses. If you’re not sure if this will fit your horse you can try the Recuptex bandages in combination with our repellent stable bandages, this will fit for sure!

9. Can you use the boots on both the front and hind legs?

The Recuptex boots can indeed be used on both front and hind legs. you only have to choose between the left and right sides of the horse. The boots can be worn in the stable or during transport. 

10. Do professionals use Recuptex products too?

Yes, professionals are a big fan of the Recuptex technology and use it before and after training or competitions.
